Densmore, Honorable Discharge July, 1865-document not for sale) drum, phyfe & pump organ in carrying case (Cornelius E. Densmore is Mary Jane Hart Black’s Great Grandfather.  The family tree is: Cornelius E. Densmore, born August 23, 1834-he had 5 Children, of which the youngest was Willie E. Densmore, born June 21, 1878 she had 2 children and one is Winnifred Densmore Hart born ct 26, 1906-she had 2 children and one is Mary Jane Hart Black born January 7, 1934.  The letter with his discharge certificate reads as follows-

served during the War of the Rebellion in the Union Army as Corporal of Company M of the 6th Regiment Michigan Cavalry and our records show that he was taken a Prisoner of War while in the discharge of his duty near Trevilian Station, Virginia on or about the 11 day of June, 1864, and that he was confined in the following Southern Military Prisons: LIbby Prison in Richmond Andersonville, Milan Prison in Georgia and finally sent to Military Hospital at Annapolis Honorable Discharge on the 30th day of July, 1865.)
